Sometimes I get caught up in worries about the past and future that I forget the most important thing.
And that is to focus on the present. We get so worked up about what happened in the past and what's going to happen in the future, and worry ourselves to death about things that we can't control. If you really think about it, there's nothing we can do to change the past and there's no way of knowing what the future holds. Yet we worry about these things constantly. Why do we do that? Have you ever taken a moment to stop and just be present?
One of my biggest resolutions this year is to be more mindful and to practice mindfulness. Instead of thinking about the past or worrying about the future, I am going to just worry about what I need to do today. And the things that are lined up for today. The key word being TODAY. Of course, things do get out of hand sometimes and once in a while I need a reminder to make sure I don't fall back into the habit of worrying about things I can't control.
One thing that I find helps is to wear reminders.
What better way to remind myself then to look down and see I'm wearing my "Accomplishment Magnificent Things" necklace and remember that today is where the accomplishments start.
Balance It Out
Seeking balance between work, school, family and friends is no easy feat. But most times we need to be reminded that we need to find a balance in everything. We can't juggle everything all at once or put too many things on our plates or else we'll topple over and break. There's a critical moment in everyone's life where they reach a breaking point and realize they need to balance it all out to achieve a more peaceful life.
We forget that each day matters and that no matter what we need to seize it. We don't know what tomorrow brings or what the past will stir up but all we have is right now and what better way to remind ourselves that then this necklace? Stop focusing on making tomorrow better or correcting the past, focus on seizing the day and making the most of it.
Confidence Is Key
If you're anything like me, you get caught up in self-doubt and feel self-consciousness about everything. And we all feel the same about ourselves. We either look in the mirror think we're not pretty enough or we go red when we embarrass ourselves in front of other people. We think others are laughing at us and laughing at our flaws or they're talking about it behind our backs. Why do we constantly torture ourselves like that? No more of that. We need to remind ourselves that we can be confident, and that confidence is the key to accomplish greater things. Don't listen to the haters, wear your confidence necklace and strut your stuff.
Maybe you believe in other forces or the man in the sky but sometimes we just need to believe that things will turn out okay. Have a little faith and trust in the universe that everything will turn out for the better. Remember that the rainbow always comes out after the rain. And each storm will pass to bring new life.
Accomplish Magnificent Things
Whatever you're doing right now, I bet you're going to go far with it. And with whatever talent that you have, you're going to be able to use it to accomplish everything you ever wanted. This might all be blissful talk right now but down the road you'll find that these little goals that you have. The little tasks that you're doing right now will add up to bigger things. You just have to remind yourself that you can accomplish all your goals and all the magnificent things you set out to do.
Change is scary and hard and most of time we fear it. But I guarantee that this change is for the better. Every new beginning starts off a little rocky but each new beginning means you're opening a door to more opportunities and more great things to come your way. So lets embrace this reminder and realize that new beginnings don't need to be feared.
We all need a little push once in a while, I know I do. And these small reminders give me that push that I need to keep on going. And know that things will turn out okay. It might not be tomorrow that I'll see great results or achieve everything I wanted but I know I will be able to look back and realize all the things that have changed for the better. Let these small reminders guide you and inspire you to keep on going.
